That was so much fun! I guess you and the bidder both get the credit for such an unusual Spike vid, but it totally worked!

Thank you very much giandujakiss! The song is a very unusual choice for Spike and unlike any other Spike vid out there to my knowledge. I'm glad you found it fun and the bidder should get the majority of the credit here because from the outset it was his vision that I put into play.

After all these years, I'm impressed by any Spike vid that doesn't feel like a retread. What strikes me in particular about this vid is the even representation of the different eras of Spike's unlife. While vids usually focus on his S5&6 adoration of Buffy, you skipped right over that, the important thing being what he was trying to fit in as, not who (besides himself) he was doing it for. All the "Things are not what they seem" moments are good, especially the first, which gave me a jolt, and the transition at 1:13 is perfect. The car scene around 1:38 is freeing [it's 2am, and I've run out of generically positive adjectives]. The following S4 section is funny. The vid doesn't flag towards the end, either. It sounds odd to say this about anything related to that season, but I really enjoyed the S7 section.

Thank you. I think you hit the nail on the head. The vid is about Spike's development and although Buffy is an important part of that there is also more to it. The car scene really serves to split the vid into two parts the pre-chip Spike and the Spike after getting chipped that's his turning point in this vid the point at which his path changes and it's entirely independent of Buffy.

It's pleasing to know that you felt it was saying something a bit different.

Yeah, I'm one of the biggest hos out there ;)

I was thinking of offering two vids this round but bottled it because of other things I want to get done by the end of the year. Maybe we could work something out off the books, barter style?

Both my Sweet Charity vids have been Spike vids, hence the "no BtVS men" rule for this round. This was for the first round I entered and "Still Breathing" was the second. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to watch it.

I am sure I will enjoy it. And I can understand the 'no btvs men' thing.

I still have some more bidding to do yet and I think I will check out your other products :)

Here via decade_of_spike recommendation. Terrific vid. The editing is sharp, energetic and inventive, the choice of scenes is clever and inspired.

I can't imagine a better song choice for Spike. It's crazy how well that works. The pacing is wonderful and I really like the way you used the lyrics and music. It's unusual to see such a well made mainly linear character study, so I was delighted. I also liked that you cycled back through to the beginning with William.

I really can't take much credit for the song or the basic narrative because my Sweet Charity buyer did all the donkey work in that respect. I'm totally grabbing the credit for the pacing though :D

Thanks for commenting.

I really like how this turned out. :D The song choice/source combo is quirky enough to stand out purely on those merits, but your editing makes it *sparkle*--and completely sells me on the tonal quality of the song. Those bidders are getting a steal with you, whatever the price. :}

Yeah it turned out okay in the end. I've learned to love it , buyers and vidders ideas don't always mesh but it was definitely a worthwhile process in the long run. I really don't think this type of song is what most people will associate with Spike which might be a barrier with the vid but honestly it's a breath of fresh air really. There's not another Spike vid like it tonally plus the buyer was happy and that's all that really matters in the end. Thank you!
